The 14x6 wheels on my M edition are so light at 10.5lbs that I can't afford a set of lighter 15" wheels. And I really wish I could move up to R15 tires.

Next step; Carbon fiber wheels.

psssh, 10.5 lbs is so heavy ;)
I'll probably never own a lighter wheel.
I know 6UL's are a couple pounds heavier than yours, but they're still damn light—not to mention come in all widths, many colors, and look good.

2nd step: start taking donations for said carbon fiber wheels.

I am still arguing with myself about if I want to keep the light weight or a tad wider tire with a shorter sidewall. This being for autocross naturally...

I'm no expert but I feel like tire compound + alignment + pressure would make more of a difference than a slightly wider tire (what rubber do your run now?). Besides, anything wider than 205 is going to slow down a stock power NA anyway. You can still get Dunlop ZIIs in OE tire size... allows you to keep your light setup.
Also if you're serious about slashing pounds from all four corners you might consider a brake "downgrade" to 1.6 sizes. Safe to say that in autocross, this will stop just as hard as your current ones—even better with some upgraded pads.

15x7 RPF1's are just under 9.8 pounds, if you don't mind upgrading your width a bit they are hands down your best bet, pretty affordable too, especially used.

Car is on stock size Michelin AS performance tires(so crap). I'd only go to a 195 section tire, as you mentioned I've learned going to wide on stock power will make me slower. I do plan on getting the Flyin Miata performance alignment done. Part of me just wanted 15" wheels for looks. I've read about the brake downgrade but since I just did a complete brake overhaul, that isn't happening haha.

My car budget revolves around my college budget so take what is pretty affordable and lower it a little more lol. I know new they are 250 clams a corner. If I ejaculated money RPF1s would be my first choice though.

If you ejaculated money for more than four hours you should consult your doctor as you may have a serious medical condition.

Sounds pretty solid. Me in your shoes would get the alignment, get 185/60/14 ZII's on the stockers, and pump up the tires extra for AX.

I much prefer my OEM BBS 15x6" wheels that weigh 12 lbs. I have a much better choice of tires. I also have a set of 15x9" Advanti Storm S1 that weigh a bit over 12 lbs for next season of autocross.
Do you autocross? If not, you can get a set of 195/60/r14 Federal 595 tires. They are super sticky, but not really autocross competitive. I plan on getting them for my daily wheels.

There's a set here in MN with new tires with miata fitment 15x7 for 750 bucks, new tires and wheels would run you almost 2k! Good deal.

Your BBS wheels are the ones I most want. I am getting the car fully ready for a season of autocross, so the Star Specs are my only option really.

If you want to be competitive, you definitely need 15" wheels, which are street class legal! The Star Spec version of the ZII should be out now. I saw a guy with them recently. If you had a set of 14" RPF1 wheels, I might even trade you haha.
